Unavailability - it’s not our fault

Capsool has been unavailable for a couple of days. This has been due to our hosting provider having a serious network failure that has rendered all of their customers inoperable. That includes us.

We have been assured that all our data is safe (and we back it up elsewhere anyway), so there is little to worry about other than when we will be back.

We haven’t switched over to another provider as we were informed that the outage wouldn’t last too long. Unfortunately that wasn’t correct and we will put in place an additional presence for Capsool so that if this happens in the future we can switch quickly.

Sooley will be back in action soon, but we apologise for this. It’s out of our control.

All busy on the capsool front…

I realise we’ve been a little quiet over here at Capsool.

Things are moving on really well and we have some key relationships in development. New development of the site is coming to the fore too.

Also, starting today, some special projects are using Capsool. This is really exciting and marks a new phase.

We’ll reveal more in a while.

p.s. We didn’t make it to the final of TC50. Not to worry, we think it probably for the best (but we would say that, wouldn’t we!)…we gave it a good shot, had a great conversation with one of the TechCrunch editors in the process and learnt a lot in a short space of time.

Let the fun commence…

This is the kind of fun that we’ve been waiting for. We’re just about to start making the Capsool business plan available to venture capital organisations, business angels and other sources of funding.

It’s time to push the rocket booster on Capsool. Sooley has his finger hovering over the button.

Let’s see how we get on. Will keep you posted, but obviously all within confidentiality guidelines. I’m not giving the game away here…

up next: v2 development sneak peek.

Techcrunch50

We’ve put in an app for the Techcrunch50. Let’s hope we get some good, positive exposure from it.

I’m sure there are gazillions of startups in the pile, so luck probably plays a large part in this one.

Keep you posted.

Ready to go…

We’ve been busy over at Capsool towers prepping for a bit of a push in the early stages of building a user base. There’s been a flurry of activity around the homepage and inside the site. All tweaks and nudges, nothing too major. We’re saving that for v2.

I reckon the homepage is one of the best looking on the web. Hey, that’s a bold statement, but we think it rocks and at last tells you what capsool is all about.

Skip on over to the site and have a poke around.

Bring your Flickr content in!

We’ve just plugged in the capability to connect to your Flickr account and bring in your photos directly into Capsool.

This is pretty neat and brings a nice method for you to bring content that you already have online into your Capsools. Note that this is still on a test footing (as is capsool in any case) and there may be a couple of bugs floating around in it. Also, it doesn’t bring in Flickr video. Yet.

But, if you have a Flickr account, set up your details in your Capsool account and authenticate it in Flickr.

This one makes me smile. I love the Flickr service and I’d like to see a healthy relationship between us and them. Time will tell on that one.

The start of something?

Well, we think so.

Capsool is a project that we’ve been working on for a while. ‘We’ are three guys from Manchester, a developer in Burnley and another developer in South Africa. And sooley.

We don’t know if capsool will go anywhere, but we know that it is something we have to pursue to it’s logical conclusion.

the blog is just here to help you share in that journey. We’ll keep you posted on updates to the project, the launch date and how you can get involved in helping us make it even better than it already is.

welcome.
